John 7:37-38

Have you ever gotten an invitation too good to ignore?

This is an opportunity I don't want to miss.

"How would you describe the Christian life?"

But Jesus paints a very different picture of "religious life."

"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." (John 7:37–38)

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”

(Isaiah 12:3)

If you're thirsty, come to me.

One is that God is distant and remote, and enjoys playing hard-to-get.

That following Jesus is a life of drudgery — doing without what you want and missing out on everything good.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:7)

#1. A Closer Walk With God Is As Good As You Would Expect It To Be.

They're flowing, moving, connected to a greater source.

He can speak power into every moment of your life.

This kind of closeness brings joy that isn't dependent on circumstances.

You will be like a watered garden and like a spring whose waters never run dry. (Isaiah 58:11 HCSB)

Walking closely with God isn't just one option out of many for your consideration.

#2. A Closer Walk is Possible Because He Made the First Move.

He doesn’t play hide and seek with His people.

Right here, with me, is where your life begins.

“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.”

The more closely you walk with Christ, the more you'll change — from the inside out.

#3. A Closer Walk Begins With the Smallest of Steps.

Reach Out To Jesus, He's Reaching Out to You.

Every great act of faith begins with a single step.

Your closer walk with God begins when you say "yes" to Him.

I thought about my ways, And turned my feet to Your testimonies. I made haste, and did not delay to keep Your commandments. (Psalm 119:59-60 NKJV)

It's an invitation to a life overflowing with joy, peace, and purpose.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in… (Revelation 3:20 NKJV)

"Lord, I don't need you right now; I can take care of myself."

His presence drives out everything that isn't good in your life.

And now one single step in His direction will release the flow of living water within you.

What you'll find is that more of Jesus in your life means more of everything that matters.
