Isaiah 42:1-17

There are more ministry opportunities available today than ever.

The Lord Jesus Christ.

Do I see the church as a vital force in my life?

Do you still hear the Spirit speaking to you?

They are words of truth and words of warning.

#1. Time of spiritual renewal.

Isaiah 42:1 (NIV) "Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on Him, and He will bring justice to the nations."

“We cannot organize revival, but we can set our sails to catch the  wind from heaven when God chooses to blow upon His people once again.”

Jesus is God's elect.

God's soul is delighted in Him.

God has put His spirit upon Him.

God has commissioned Him for service.

"Revival is here - let's get on with the work of the Spirit."

Matthew 18:20 (NIV ) "For where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them."

#2. Time for Redemption.

Isaiah 42:6, 7 (NIV) "I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison, and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness."

Isaiah 42:9 (NIV) "See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you."

Redemption.

Grace.

Mercy.

We are told not to judge.

We are no longer condemned.

Our sins are removed.

Jesus' blood conquers Satan's power.

The Spirit of God holds Satan at a distance.

Matthew 25:13 (NIV) "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."

#3. Time of judgment coming.

Isaiah 42:13 (NIV) "The Lord will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior He will stir up His zeal; with a shout He will raise the battle cry and will triumph over His enemies."

God is a just God; He will honor His Word.

1 Corinthians 15:52 (NIV) "In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed."

May God help us all experience a revival of the Holy Spirit.
