A Happy Heart

Philippians 2:12-18
"Daddy, my heart is so full of happiness."
"Brian made it all leak out."
Ways your heart springs a leak.
"Work out" and then "work in."
Ephesians 2:8-9 "It's by God's grace that you're saved, through faith – and even the faith is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, so no one could boast."
Fear is one of the primary reasons that we lose our happiness.
  1. Remember that God is with us; He is in us, and He is for us!
  • Working means energy.
  • "If God is for us, who can defeat us?"
  • Goodness and Mercy.
  1. Be grateful and never grumble!
  • Fretting and fighting over the small stuff.
  • We often say.........
  • That's when and then thinking.
  • Happiness is a choice.
  • The whiners.
  • The ungrateful.
  • Martyrs.
  • The cynics.
  • Perfectionists.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In everything give thanks: for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
  • He didn't say FOR everything; he said IN everything.
  1. Keep a clear conscience!
  • Generations of people are still broken and corrupt.
  • Christians are to shine brighter and brighter.
  • The word "blessed" means "happy."
  • Psalm 32:1 (LB) "What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven! What joys when sins are covered over! What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record!"
  1. Memorize God’s Word and live it!
  • How do you get out of thinking thoughts of depression?
  • The Bible talks about the washing of the water of the Word.
  • "Hold tightly to the Word of life."
  • We do have the capacity to remember what we choose to remember.
  1. Use your life to serve God by serving others! 
  • You can see the manifestation of God's power and presence.
  • God wants us to become more like Him
  • Amazingly, serving and being happy goes hand in hand.
  • "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
  • Ezekiel 36:26 "I will give you a new heart with a new and right desire, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take out your heart hardened by sin, and I'll give you a new heart of love."
