Listen to the Message

Romans 12

The Christian life is all about love.
Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.
Nothing can replace the influence of unconditional love in the life of a child.
"And he has given us this command. Whoever loves God must also love his brother." (1 John 4:21)
"No matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love." (1 Corinthians 13:1 The Message)
"Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it-- because it does." (1 Corinthians 14:1 The Message)
LOVE LOOKS OUT FOR OTHERS.

1.) Be devoted to one another.
2.) Give honor to one another.
  • "Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don't think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing." [Philippians 2:3 NLT]
3.) Be generous towards others.
  • "Feel for others -- in your pocket."
  • LOVE SEEKS TO UNDERSTAND
4.) We understand by practicing empathy.
  • Look for opportunities to celebrate victories in other people's lives.
5.) We understand by practicing unity.
  • God wants us to get along.
  • "How wonderful it is, how pleasant, when brothers live together in harmony." (Psalm 133:1 NLT)
6.) We understand by practicing acceptance.
  • How easily do outsiders fit in?
  • LOVE TAKES THE HIGH ROAD
7.) Take the high road by responding to mistreatment with kindness.
8.) Take the high road by setting an example.
  • "Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable."
9.) Take the high road by practicing peace.
  • Because probably 9 out of 10 times that's enough to make a situation peaceful.
10.) Take the high road by forgiving others.
  • "This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples-- when they see the love you have for each other."(John 13:35)
