Listen to the Message

1 Thessalonians 5:16-24

People really are nicer in December.

How Christmas can light up our life.

Five safety measures
1. BE JOYFUL.
  • Joy is not a feeling.
  • God is calling for an attitude, not an emotion.
  • "Attitude is the mind's paintbrush. It can color a situation gloomy and gray, or cheerful."
  • It means I will put my trust in His ability to see me through.
  • When you adopt an attitude of joy, you pave the way for feelings of joy to follow.
2. BE PRAYERFUL.
  • The idea is that our prayer time lasts all day long.
  • Keeping an attitude of prayer helps you take control of your state of mind.
  • "Prayer is the wine that makes glad the heart of man."
3. BE GRATEFUL.
  • The keyword is "in."
  • "God, at the very least, I want to thank you that this situation isn't any worse than it is."
  • Have you ever wondered what God's will for you is?
4. BE PLIABLE.
  • To be pliable means to be moldable, changeable, movable, flexible.
  • Be open to the possibility that God can do something new.
  • It means that you're flexible.
5. BE CAREFUL.
  • Thoughts are that powerful.
  • Be aware of the danger zones and avoid them.
  • Let's not save it for only this season.
  • If you surrender your attitude to God, He will reward you with His peace and His blessing in your life.
