Listen to the Message
"What shall I do with Jesus?"
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:19)
"Thank you, God, for all you've done for me."
Our salvation is a gift, not a paycheck.
The communion we have with God through the blood of Jesus Christ.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:13)
That connection leads us to Community with Man.
Partaking of the Lord's supper reminds us that the ground is level at the foot of the cross.
"This is my body."
We are reminding ourselves of the sacrificial death of Jesus upon the cross.
In the Old Testament we see again and again that blood is required for reconciliation to God.
"There is power in the blood."
It is also that we get to live in this life free from the power of sin.
Thank you God for setting me free.
This bread and this cup symbolize a supernatural power greater than we have the capacity to understand.
To take a look backward.
To take a look forward.
Ask Him to purify your heart.
