Listen to the Message
Romans 7:14-25
We must remain strong
The problem of sin and the law has been settled through the
death of Christ.
We strive to serve God through the Spirit.
It's a victory that comes only by persistence, patience, and relentless faith in the mercy of God.
1. Sin will never stop trying to get the best of you.
-
"Don't blame it on me; the devil made me do it"
-
Sin seizes opportunity.
-
Sin will do what it can to wipe you out.
-
We need to be aware of the same thing in our spiritual lives, and take the same kind of action.
-
Don't give it an opportunity.
2. Your behavior will always be bothersome.
-
You have to accept the fact that the battle with sin is a lifelong battle.
-
It means that you accept this struggle as a daily reality.
-
God's grace guarantees your forgiveness.
-
The worst thing you can do is to give up, to quit trying.
-
Your reach in the Christian life will always exceed your grasp.
3. Only Jesus can help you resolve the tension.
-
Victory is a birthright for every believer.
-
Jesus helps you deal with the tension between who you are and who you want to be.
-
His goal for you is that you become good.
-
His purpose for you is that you become like Jesus.
-
We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:37 NIV)
-
Don't put your faith in your goodness, put your faith in His mercy.
