Listen to the Message
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
I know buildings are great, but it’s really about the people who are in the building!
(v.7) “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows”
2 Peter 3:8 “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
GOD IS ALWAYS AT WORK AROUND YOU
Principle: God’s timing is always perfect. My timing is almost always flawed
Don’t Give Up!
(v. 9) “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Chuck Swindoll says, "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.”
They didn’t give up before God showed up!
1 Cor. 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Principle: If I can be faithful Now, I can be fruitful later
Keep Doing Good!
(v.10) “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
Genesis 21:32 “After the treaty had been made at Beersheba, Abimelek and Phicol the commander of his forces returned to the land of the Philistines. Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Eternal God. And Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines for a long time.”
Principle: IF I can be faithful Now, someone else can enjoy the fruit later
1 Cor. 3:6-7 “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
WHERE ARE YOU PLANTING?
