2 Corinthians 4:17

Sentenced to an eternity of hard labor immersed in futility.
Renew his heart, mind, and spirit every day.
He refused to surrender to futility.
What's the Use?
"It's futile even to try."
Regardless of how it may sometimes seem, life is not futile.

1. What I'm dealing with today is nothing compared to what lies ahead.
  • I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)
  • But God has blessings in store for you now.
2. What I'm dealing with today is doing me more good than harm.
  • They're working for us, not against us.
  • "I'll take it as a win."
  • You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Genesis 50:20)
  • "causes all things to work together for good." [Romans 8:28]
  • It wants you to look only at the problem, but not the solution.
3. What I'm dealing with today is merely a short- term situation.
  • This problem won't last, but you will.
  • He says our problems are light, and the glory that awaits us is heavy.
  • "Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?" (1 Samuel 17:26)
  • Every difficulty you're facing today is a dandelion compared to the power of God.
  • This situation will not last, but I will.
  • His glory outweighs every light and momentary difficulty we may face.
