Listen to the Message

John 17:6-19
This attitude of wanting to escape the battlefield can be seen in other areas of life.
He wants us to plant ourselves right in the middle of it.
We're called to the daily grind.
We are to be in the world, but not of the world.
Living life on the front lines is unavoidable.
We are not of the world, but we are in the world.
1. This is where you fulfill your purpose.
  • Why are we sent?
  • Our calling comes with a price.
  • God has not called us to an easy life, free from conflict.
2. You have the promise of God's protection.
  • The power of God will be with you.
  • Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me...(Psalm 23:4)
  • If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
  • God cover me.
3. For this moment you have been prepared.
  • To equip an individual
  • You can be ready — emotionally, spiritually, intellectually — for every challenge that comes your way.
  • They're prepared, they're equipped, and they're ready to face the challenge.
  • But He does call us to a great life
  • So send I you — by grace made strong to triumph O'er hosts of hell, o'er darkness, death and sin, My name to bear and in that name to conquer — So send I you, My victory to win.
  • You can be sure that in one way or another, you're the enemy's target.
