Mark 16:1-8
The followers of Jesus didn't fade into oblivion.
Seeing His resurrection firsthand changed His followers' perspective on life and death and everything in between.

#1. Jesus is who He said He was.
  • He claimed to be God, and He proved His claim by conquering death.
  • "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
  • "I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved." (John 10:9)
  • The resurrection answers the question and ends the argument once and for all.
#2. No situation is beyond God's power.
  • The end of His life ran contrary to what everyone expected would happen
  • But God wasn't finished.
  • What is happening in your world that appears to be beyond the hand of God?
  • Easter morning teaches that no matter what happens on Friday,
  • Sunday is coming.
  • The resurrection makes the word "hopeless" obsolete.
  • It makes the word "impossible" meaningless.
  • It makes the word "despair" powerless.
  • I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
#3. God's forgiveness is available to everyone.
  • His forgiveness is available to everyone--even you.
  • When Jesus died on the cross, all the sins of the world were placed on His shoulders.
  • There's nothing left for you to do...except receive His forgiveness.
  • Forgiveness isn't theirs to give or withhold.
  • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
  • Colossians 2:14 says: He has forgiven all our sins and canceled every debt we owe.
