Because God is in Control

Listen to the Message
Psalm 118
You can find a place of rest in the presence of God when you’re going through hard times.
The world seems like an out of control place.
The death of Jesus in the cross was bit a victory for Satan.
What we learning the Bible is that it is absolutely OK to be absolutely honest with Him
When you talk to God, you’re not supplying Him with new information.
“We should bring to God what is in our hearts, not what we think should be in our hearts.” CS Lewis
God, in spite of all that’s going on, I will trust you.
1. Celebrate Each Day as God’s Gift.
  • Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
  • You can celebrate today, and every day to come.
  • To rejoice requires a choice.
  • Make it a habit to get in God’s presence as early as possible.
2. Ask For More Than Enough
  • “Save now, I pray, O LORD; O LORD, I pray, send now prosperity.” Psalms‬ ‭118:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
  • “Please, Lord, please save us. Please, Lord, please give us success.” Psalms‬ ‭118:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬
  • What kind of abundance do you need?
  • When you believe that God is really in control of a situation, you don’t need to ask merely for barely enough.
  • Its not enough for God’s people to merely survive; He wants you to thrive.
3. Look To The Light
  • “God is the LORD, And He has given us light; Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭118:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
  • If you’re in the the middle of a mess, you need to spend more time in God’s word.
  • God has given us a light to go by.
  • “The Lord is me Light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear.”
  • Developing a God-is-in-control mindset meats that you will begin to look at something other than your problems.
  • No matter how things look for you today, you can find a place of peace in the presence of God.
  • A choice to be honest with your situation, and a choice to trust that God will deliver on His Promises.
